Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)

Piaget Academy participates in the State of Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program. This program is a free three hour program designed to prepare students for kindergarten. Piaget Academy also offers extended hours at an additional cost that promotes additional enrichment of the curriculum from the VPK Classroom. Student must be four years old by September 1st of the school year to qualify for this program. Our VPK Program includes the following:

1. Classroom Environment: Provides VPK children with a high-quality oral language and print-rich environment in which to acquire oral language skills, phonological awareness, print awareness, and alphabet knowledge.
2. Curriculum provides activities and instructional materials that are based on scientifically based reading research for use in developing language, cognitive, and early reading skills. Mathematical skills focus on identifying, sorting, and classifying mathematical patterns, number concepts, comparing length, weight and height, basic addition / subtraction, and telling of time.
3. Screening Assessments: VPK Screening Assessments will be conducted in the fall; winter and spring to ensure students are learning the required skills to prepare them for the Kindergarten School Readiness Test.

 Piaget Academy VPK Graduation:

Piaget Academy honors the accomplishments of our students with our annual VPK Graduation. We do this with grand style in a beautiful location where over 500 parents, family members and friends attend to celebrate the satisfactory completion of the VPK Program. This important event is thoroughly enjoyed by the VPK students strengthening and accentuating pride and self esteem.
